Mpumalanga
Mpumalanga means “the place where the sun rises” in Swazi and Xhosa.
South Africa's Mpumalanga province, with its plunging canyons, soaring mountains, and huge veldts, has some of the country's most beautiful scenery. South Africa is a stunning country, and Mpumalanga is the most spectacular province. It is located in the country's east, near the borders of Mozambique and Eswatini—Mpumalanga attracts a large number of nature lovers and adrenaline seekers due to its soaring mountains, lush forests, and huge Lowveld expanse. These can be explored on horseback, on foot, or by bike. The Blyde River Canyon is one of the province's most recognizable features. It's the third-largest canyon in the world, with a crystal turquoise river carving a deep gash through the Drakensberg Escarpment.
The scenery is breathtaking, with panoramic mountain passes and breathtaking valleys, as well as majestic lakes, rivers, and waterfalls. Mpumalanga is a must-see on any South African itinerary. Other attractions in Mpumalanga include Bourke's Luck Potholes and the Sudwala Caves, which are thought to be the oldest caves on the planet. Mpumalanga is also home to the renowned Kruger National Park, one of Africa's greatest game parks, as well as hundreds of other wildlife sanctuaries teeming with wildlife and birds.
